Abstract

The main problem of dry land are low productivity and less moisture. This study aimed to know the best combination of organic and inorganic fertilizers to the productivity of shallot using conventional and alley cropping systems in dry land. The research was conducted in October 2015 until March 2016 in Sidera, Sigi Biromaru district. The design of the study was based on randomized block design with seven treatments and reapeted three times and therefore there are 21 unit experiments. The treatments were R0 = without fertilizer, R1 = a half dosage of NPK recomended (50kg urea, 75kg SP-36, and 50kg KCl), R2= a half recomendation of NPK dosage + 5 ton/ha green manure, R3 = a half recomendation of NPK dosage + 10 ton/ha green manure, R4= NPK fertilizer as dosage recomended (100 kg urea, 150kg SP-36, and100kg KCl), R5 = NPK fertilizer as recomendation dosage + 5 ton/ha green manure and R6 = NPK fertilizer as dosage recomended + 10 ton/ha green manure. The result showed that a half dosage of recomended NPK (50kg urea, 75kg SP-36, and 50kg KCl) + 5 ton/ha green manure were the best treatment in alley cropping systems in dry land. The highest productivity of shallot, was 9.733 ton/ha, in alley cropping system with a half recomendation of NPK dosage + 5 ton/ha green manure compared to conventional cropping systems which produced 4.270 ton/ha.
