Abstract

Increased triglycerides are risk factors that cause coronary heart disease and stroke. High triglyceride levels can also cause blood pressure disorders. This research aims to study the activity and effective dose of ethanol extract of pepolo bark (Bhiscofia javanica Blume) as an antihyperlipidemia against the examination of triglyceride levels in white rats (Rattus norvegicus). Extraction was done by the soxhletation method using ethanol 96%. This study used 5 test groups namely 20mg/200gBB group; 30mg/200gBB; 40mg/200gBB and 2 groups as a comparison control. The increase in triglyceride levels was carried out using 2 induction methods, namely the exogenous method by giving 0.01% PTU and the endogenous method by feeding high fat and 2.5 ml pork oil. The results showed that the ethanol extract of pepolo bark had antihyperlipidemia activity and the dose had a 20mg simvastatin effect activity, a dose of 30mg/200gBB.
