Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is influence of problem-based learning model assisted smartphone media to the motivation of learning and interest in student learning SMA Negeri 1 Palu. The method used is quasi experiment with nonequivalent control group design. The population of this research is 273 student’s of class X IPA SMA Negeri 1 Palu. Sampling was done by purposive sampling with research sample is class X IPA 6 as control class and class X IPA 5 as experiment class. Research instrument in the form of questionnaire to see the motivation of learning and student learning interest that has been validated. There is a learning media in the form of applications for smartphones that have been validated. The significance value of hypothesis test result of student’s learning motivation is smaller than ? or 0,011 <0,05, so H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. These results indicate that there is the effect of problem-based learning model assisted smartphone media to the motivation to learn student’s SMA Negeri 1 Palu. The significance value of the hypothesis test of student interest in learning is also obtained smaller than the value of ? or 0.016 <0.05, so H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. These results indicated that there was influence of problem-based learning model assisted smartphone media to the interest of student’s studying SMA Negeri 1 Palu.
