Abstract

ABSTRACT Ismail (A 121 12 172). This research finding entitles “Using Keyword, Information and Memory Clue (K.I.M) Strategy To Enhance Vocabulary Mastery At The Eighth Grade Students of SMPN 19 Palu .”. Under the Supervision of Ferry Rita. The objective of this research is to prove that the K.I.M Strategy can enhance the vocabulary mastery of the eighth grade students of SMPN 19 Palu. The researcher used quasi-experimental research design. The sample of the research was VIII E that consisted of 20 students as experimental class while VIII D thas consisted of 20 students as control class. The technique of data collection was tested. The test conducted twice, those were pre-test and post-test. the mean score of pretest 31 and posttest 77,65 of the experimental group which has been improve. The improvement of experimental group is 47. It means that the research hypothesis was accepted. It also can be seen on the testing hypothesis, which shows that the t-counted (20.86) is higher than the t-table (2.0252).It indicates that the students’ vocabulary mastery has enhanced through K.I.M Strategy.
