PENGARUH STRATEGI QAR (HUBUNGAN PERTANYAAN DAN JAWABAN) TERHADAP PEMAHAMAN BACAAN SISWA DI SMK MUHAMMADIYAH 1 PALU

This research employs a mixed-methods approach to investigate the impact of the Question and Answer Relationship (QAR) strategy on reading comprehension of descriptive English texts among Grade XI students at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Palu, along with their perceptions of the strategy. Quantitative data from pretest-posttest revealed significant improvements in the experimental class scores from 60.48 to 83.85, compared to the control class from 60.42 to 67.29, validated by t-test analysis, while qualitative insights from questionnaires and interviews disclosed positive views on QAR's role in mastering literal, inferential, and critical understanding through four question types (Right There, Think and Search, Author and You, On My Own). Students reported enhanced motivation, confidence, and engagement in reading activities.
