ABSTRACT
NURUL FARADILA: Correlation between History of Infectious Disease and
Environmental Sanitation to Stunting in the Working Area of Siniu Health Center,
Parigi Moutong District. (Supervised by Ummu Aiman)
Stunting prevalence rate in Indonesia in 2021 is 24.4%. In Parigi Moutong
Regency, the highest prevalence of stunting IS in the Working Area of Siniu Health Center
with a prevalence of 35.1%. The impact of stunting on toddlers is at a higher risk of
developing degenerative diseases such as cancer, diabetes and obesity. The purpose of this
study is to determine the relationship between history of infectious diseases and
environmental sanitation and stunting in the working area of Siniu Health Center, Parigi
Moutong District. This research was a quantitative study using a cross sectional approach.
The sample in this study were mothers of toddlers 6-59 months with a total of 272 samples
determined using the slovin formula of 272 respondents. Data analysis used was the chisquare test at 95% confidence level (P-value 0.05). The results of the Chi-square test show
that there is a relationship between a history of infectious diarrheal diseases (p=0.038)
and the incidence of stunting, and there is no relationship between a history of ARI
(p=0.090), sources of drinking water (p=0.498), latrine conditions (p=0.498). 1.000), the
condition of the trash bin (p=0.464) and the condition of the disposal of the sewer
(p=0.110) on the incidence of stunting.
