Muhammad Fitrah K, A 121 20 257 “A Syntactic Analysis of Sentence Patterns Made by the EFL Students of English Study Program Tadulako University” A skripsi, English Education Study Program, Language and Arts Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University, Under Supervision of Sriati Usman and Siska Bochari.
The objective of this research is to find out what are the sentence patterns used in students written work, to find out what the most dominant sentence pattern in students written work, and to find out the students’ difficulty to make sentences based on sentence patterns. The method of this research depends on the quantitative descriptive data by using statistical analysis. The researcher found 1.127 sentences produced by the students in their written work with seven patterns. The most dominant sentence pattern in the students’ written work is pattern SVA (subject + verb + adverb). There are four variable becomes the reason the students difficult to make sentence patterns which are internal factor.
