ANALISIS FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI KEMAMPUAN BERBICARA BAHASA INGGRIS SISWA KELAS SEBELAS DI SMA NEGERI 6 SIGI

This research focuses on factors influencing English speaking skills. The objective
of the research is to find out the factors influencing English speaking skills and to
find out the dominant factor influencing the speaking skills encountered by the
eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 6 Sigi. The research method used in this
research was descriptive analysis method by applying conversation analysis. The
sample of this research was the eleventh grade students’ at SMA Negeri 6 Sigi
chosen by convenience sampling technique. The instruments of data collection
were questionnaires and interviews. The data were analyzed descriptively. The
results of the data analyzed show that the linguistics factors and psychological
factors influence the speaking skills. From the data questionnaire and interview
findings, linguistics factors are vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation.
Psychological factors are fear of making mistakes, shyness, lack of confidence
and lack of motivation. The dominant factors as linguistics are vocabulary and the
psychological factors are lack of motivation.
