ABSTRACT
The objective of this study was to examine the physical characteristics of soil in different land use
areas in Labuan Toposo, Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi. The research was conducted between October and December 2022. The research approach involved conducting a direct survey at the study sites
and collecting soil samples. The soil sampling was purposefully determined at three specific land use locations, namely paddy fields, cocoa plantations, and corn plantations. The findings indicated that paddy
fields had a bulk density of 1.56 g cm-3
, porosity of 41.25%, hydraulic conductivity of 0.61 cm h-1
, field
capacity water content of 17.20%, and organic carbon content of 1.79%. In comparison, the cocoa garden
exhibited a soil bulk density of 1.55 g cm-3
, porosity of 41.38%, hydraulic conductivity of 0.66 cm h-1
,
field capacity water content of 16.29%, and organic carbon content of 1.42%. The corn garden displayed
a soil bulk density of 1.41 g cm-3
, porosity of 46.66%, hydraulic conductivity of 2.85 cm h-1
, field capacity water content of 20.29%, and organic carbon content of 2.18%.

ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sifat fisika tanah pada beberapa penggunaan lahan
yang berbeda di Labuan Toposo Kabupaten Donggala Sulawesi Tengah. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada
Bulan Oktober sampai Bulan Desember 2022. Metode penelitian yang digunakan survei secara langsung
pada lokasi penelitian dan dilanjutkan dengan pengambilan sampel tanah. Pengambilan sampel tanah
ditentukan secara sengaja (purposive sampling) pada tiga lokasi penggunaan lahan yaitu sawah, kebun
kakao dan kebun jagung. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa lahan sawah memiliki bobot isi tanah
sebesar 1,56 g cm-3
, porositas sebesar 41,25%, konduktivitas hidraulik sebesar 0,61 cm jam-1
, kadar air
kapasitas lapang sebesar 17,20?n kandungan C-organik sebesar 1,79%. Kebun kakao memiliki bobot
isi tanah sebesar 1,55 g cm-3
, porositas sebesar 41,38%, konduktivitas hidraulik sebesar 0,66 cm jam-1
