``In the process of developing the campus, the provision of dormitory facilities is one solution in providing a residence. The need for student dormitories is not merely a place to live for students who come from outside the city of Palu, but is prioritized as a place for non-curricular education related to improving students' soft skills. In the Higher Education Long Term Strategy (HELTS: Basic Policy of Long Term Higher Education) it is quite clear that the issue of soft skills for university graduates needs to be improved.
The research method used is the architectural research method, the research departs from field data in the form of documentation and uses existing architectural theory as a supporter of data analysis techniques, namely primary data collection (field data) and secondary data, namely the existing literature, the use of theories related to the research title. regarding student dormitories
The results of this study resulted in a design for the Student Dormitory of the Faculty of Engineering, Tadulako University in Palu City with an environmental contextual approach where the existing flats were used as a reference in the arrangement of each floor in the design and the design took several elements of the form of Untad which were close to the site location according to the with the goals and objectives of this research both the needs of student dormitory facilities and infrastructure.
