Hospitals are required to have Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) to reduce a pollutants contained in wastewater to minimize water pollution. This research aims at determine the effectiveness of WWTP with anaerobic-aerobic biofilter method in reducing waste water organic pollutants at Madani Hospital in Palu City. This research is a Quasi Experiment with a laboratory approach. Sampling was carried out at the inlet and outlet points of WWTP to measure the reduces of BOD, COD and ammonia (NH3) after treatment. The sampling technique is composite sampling by time. Based on the results of laboratory test, founded the average value of BOD before and after treatment is 49.96mg/L and decreased to 26.15 mg/L with a removal percentage of 47.65%. COD value before and after treatment is 52 mg/L and 44 mg/L with a removal percentage of 15,36%. While the ammonia value before and after treatment is 15,7 mg/L and 4,8 mg/L with a removal percentage of 69, 42%. BOD reduction efficiency level is quite effective, COD is not effective and ammonia is effective, based on effectiveness criteria according to Weliyadi.
