GAMBARAN KARAKTERISTIK DAN DISTRIBUSI PENDERITA FILARIASIS DIWILAYAH KERJA DINAS KESEHATAN KABUPATEN SIGI SULAWESI TENGAH

Background: Filariasis is a chronic infection caused by Filaria worms that are transmitted through mosquito bites and settle in human lymph channels. Sigi Regency is one of the filariasis endemic districts determined by the Indonesian Minister of Health with the characteristics and distribution of patients scattered in several places under the auspices of the Sigi Regency Health Office.
Objective: Knowing the characteristics of age, sex and distribution of filariasis patients based on puskesmas, clinical manifestations, location of swelling and year of onset of swelling in the working area of the Sigi District Health Office, Central Sulawesi.
Methods: Analytic observational description using analytic survey approach with total sampling and obtained 37 samples.
Results: The highest age of filariasis sufferers in the late elderly (56-65 years) as many as 17 cases and 0 cases at the age (17-25 years and 36-45 years). There were 19 female (51.4%) and 18 male (48.6%) filariasis patients. Kaleke health center had 11 cases (29.7%) and the other 6 health centers had 1 case each (2.7%). Swelling started mostly in 1966-1976 with 10 cases (27.0%) and the lowest in the vulnerable years of 2022-2024 (0%). Distribution based on the most clinical manifestations is the chronic stage as many as 37 people (100%), the distribution of the most swelling locations is at 1 swelling location 22 people (59%) and the lowest >4 swelling locations 0 cases (0%).
Conclusion: The most age is 56-65 years, the most gender is female, the most health center is kaleke health center, the most swelling starts vulnerable in 1966-1976, the most clinical manifestations are chronic stage, the most swelling location at 1 swelling location.
