ABSTRACT

THE EXHIBITION BUILDING OF CENTRAL SULAWESI PROVINCE
IN PALU

According to the plan of Palu City in 2013, Palu is a city of industry, trade, culture and tourism. At this time, Palu City can be said to have inadequate exhibition / exhibition space facilities, especially for each regency that exhibits potential in their respective regions and industries or entrepreneurs that need large and good space to display the products offered or during the process of entering and arranging displays in the exhibition area.
Observing the development and potential of the city of Palu and its surroundings which have become increasingly prevalent, it is right time to imply a discourse in the large scale exhibition building with international standards, so that it can accommodate all activities related to works of art, culture, and tourism, which can improve the economy and can increase the potential of human resources so that in the future it will be more qualified and competitive.
The research method used by the author in the design of the Central Sulawesi Provincial Exhibition Building in Palu City is a qualitative research method which is then supported by a descriptive research method.
This descriptive qualitative method was chosen by the author because it can help identify and explain events from an architectural point of view, making it easier to get data which can then be processed and analyzed according to the functions and needs of the building which then generates ideas and ideas in designing buildings in accordance with function.
Based on the results and discussion, it can be concluded that with the permanent Central Sulawesi Exhibition Building, it can meet the needs of the people of Central Sulawesi, and all activities that can increase regional income in line with the development of MICE in Indonesia which continues to show increasing every year.
