Hubungan Antara Kosakata Dan Pemahaman Membaca Siswa Kelas VIII SMP Negeri 5 Palu

Emma Novianthi, A 121 17 020. The title of this skripsi is Correlation Between Vocabulary and Reading Comprehension of the Eighth Grade Students of SMP Negeri 5 Palu, under the supervision of Abdul Kamaruddin.
This research aims to find out the correlation between vocabulary and reading comprehension. The total number of sample was 25 students. The students of SMP Negeri 5 Palu were assigned to answer a test about vocabulary and reading comprehension. The test consisted of vocabulary and reading comprehension test. The test was administrated to students virtually by using Whatsapp. All data gained in this research were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment Correlation. The result shows that the correlation coefficient between vocabulary and reading comprehension is 0.625. It is categorized as “high” correlation. In other words, v
.ocabulary contributes to reading comprehension. By comparing the value of rtable and rcounted, it can be obtained that rcounted is higher than rtable.. It means that there is positive correlation between vocabulary and reading comprehension of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Palu.
