HUBUNGAN MORFOLOGI TERHADAP KEDALAMAN LUBANG BOR DAN KADAR ENDAPAN NIKEL LATERIT PADA AREA PT. KFM DAERAH PONGIAN, SULAWESI TENGAH

ABSTRACT
Administratively, the research area is located in Pongian Village, Bunta District, Banggai Regency. In the study area, the topography of low hills to hills ranges from (50 - 360) meters above sea level. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of morphological conditions on nickel laterite present in the study area and determine the distribution pattern of Ni using the Inverse method. Distance Weighting and thickness of each nickel profile zone in the study area using the correlation method. The results of the morphological study of the study area fall into the category of bumpy roads and low bumpy roads. Where on the only low wavy hills on the slope the depth of the drill point reaches 8 meters and 20 meters on a gentle slope. For wavy valleys on steep slopes the depth of the drill point is less than 9 meters, while at the drill point which is on a flat to slightly sloping slope, the depth is above 9 meters and 12 meters on plain slopes, on gentle slopes to a slightly steeper depth above 7 meters. The distribution pattern of nickel laterite deposits in the northern part of the study area has a nickel content of 0.69 – 1.65%, with the type of source rock being Lherzolite. In the southern part of the study area, the Ni content is 0.4 – 1.81%, with the type of source rock being Dunit rock. The thickness of nickel laterite deposits in the study area is divided into 4 zones namely the top soil zone, with a thickness of about 1-2 meters, the limonite zone with a thickness of 1-13 meters, the saprolite zone with a thickness of 1-17 meters, and the bedrock zone is obtained from 1 of 10 meters
