ABSTRACT
Introduction: Neutrophil Lymphocyte Ratio is a laboratory parameter that has the
potential to be a predictor or assessment of infection. NLR calculation is obtained
from the neutrophil type count percentage divided by the lymphocyte count. Pregnant
women with high NLR have a significantly increased risk of birth output, such as
preterm birth, low birth weight babies, premature rupture of membranes, and
preeclampsia.
Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between the Neutrophil-
Lymphocyte Ratio in pregnant women with birth output (birth weight, birth length,
and birth head circumference) at Anutapura Hospital Palu City.
Methods: This study used a quantitative research design with an analytical
observational approach and a cross-sectional method. The samples were taken
through a purposive sampling technique. The samples in this study were 89, who used
secondary data from medicine records of mothers who had given birth at Anutapura
Hospital Palu. The analysis used the Chi-Square statistical test and the Kolmogorov-
Smirnov test.
Results: The results obtain the output of birth weight has a significance value of p =
0.0372, the output of birth length has a significance value of p = 1,000, and the
output of the baby's head circumference has a significance value of p = 0.38.
Conclusion: The results of this study show a significant relationship between the
Neutrophil- Lymphocyte Ratio and the baby's birth weight and head circumference.
Furthermore, there is no relationship between the Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Ratio and
the baby's birth length.
Keywords: Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Ratio, NLR, Birth Weight, Birth Length, Birth
Head Circumference.
