Hubungan Pemenuhan Kebutuhan Dasar Kesehatan Lingkungan Dengan Kejadian Diare Pasca Banjir Bandang Di Desa Rogo Kabupaten Sigi

The incidence of diarrhea is still a health problem due to environmental sanitation especially when disaster such flash flood occurs. Rogo village is a village in Sigi regency which was affected by flash flood. This study aims to analyse association between fulfilment of basic necessities of environmental health and the incidence of post-flood diarrhea in Rogo Village, Sigi. The study was analytical with a cross sectional study approach. There were 78 heads of family that were enrolled as samples. They come from 3 village that were affected by flash flood on September 5, 2021. The sampling technique was used a proportionate stratified random sampling technique and a structured questionnaire. Data were analyzed using a chi-square test CI=95%. The results of the study showed that no association was found between clean water needs (p=0.51), drinking water needs (0.33), availability of latrines (p=1.00), and availability of dumping area ( 0.71), with the incidence of post-flood diarrhea in Rogo Village. These findings violate the environmental health paradigm theory which suggest that environment plays vital roles in the occurrence of disease. Therefore, we consider that disease is multicausal. Future research should pay attention to behavioral aspects, physical state of individuals, and other factors associated with diarrhea.
