The main problem in this research is how the parenting syle and learning
motivation of children. The purpose of thus study was to determine the
relationship between parenting styles and children’s learning motivation. This
research was conducted in group B1 Christian Kindergarten of the Salvation
Army in Palu City. The research approach used in this study is a quantitative
approach with a descriptive correlation type of research. Data collection
techniques were carried out trough observation, questionnaires and
documentation. Based on the results of the questionnaire on democratic parenting
there were 10 parents (58.18%) who established democratic parenting, in the
authoritarian there were 7 parents (41.82%) who applied authoritarian parenting,
and there was no permissive parenting style. And the results of the correlation
analysis show that the calculated r value is 0.728 with a significance of 0.034.
Because r arithmetic 0.728 is more than r table 0.482, it can be concluded that H0
is rejected and H1 is accepted, which means that there is a relationship between
