Implementasi Pembelajaran Berbasis Tema Dalam Pembelajaran Menulis Teks Deskripsi Siswa Kelas Delapan SMP Negeri 4 Totikum

Fazria Yanamo (A12119187). This skripsi is entitled “The Implementation of Theme-Based Teaching in Teaching Writing Descriptive Text to Grade Eight Students of SMP Negeri 4 Totikum." This research was under the supervision of Sudarkam Mertasono and Anjar Kusuma Dewi.
This research aims to find out whether the implementation of theme-based teaching is effective in improving the students’ writing of descriptive text or not. This research used a pre-experimental design. The population of this research was all students in grade eight; the sample was VIII B, consisting of 23 students, and the sample was selected by using purposive sampling. Then, the data were collected by using test analyzed statistically. The result of the data analysis showed that the research hypothesis is accepted because the t-counted value of 9.1 is higher than the t-table value of 1.717. Therefore, the implementation of theme-based teaching is effective in improving students’ writing of descriptive text.
