IMPROVING READING COMPREHENSION OF GRADE SEVEN STUDENTS OF SMP N 1 LORE UTARA THROUGH COMIC BOOK MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN MEMBACA SISWA KELAS VII SMP N I LORE UTARA MELALUI BUKU KOMIK

ABSTRACT
Augustin Risvanda Citra (2021). This skripsi is entitled “Improving Reading Comprehension of Grade 7 Students of SMP N 1 Lore Utara Through Comic Book” under the supervisor of Sudarkam and Anjar.

The objective of this research was to prove whether or not the Comic Book is effective to improve reading ability at seventh grade students at SMP N 1 Lore Utara. This research applied a pre-experimental research design. It consists of one class where pre-test-and post-test is given. The sample of this research was class VIIA consisted of 28 students. The instrument of collecting the data was a test (pre-test and post-test). The data was analyzed by using t-test formula. The result showed that the pre-test mean score was 52.14 and the post-test score was 120.14. For further, the analysis of data showed that tcounted value is 13.99 and ttable is 1.703. The data indicates that tcounted is greater than ttable which means that the hypothesis is accepted. In other words, using Comic Book is effective to improve reading comprehension of the seventh-grade students at SMP N 1 Lore Utara.
