INCREASING VOCABULARY MASTERY OF GRADE SEVEN STUDENTS OF SMPK GPID SUMBERSARI IN USING ENGLISH SONGS

The objective of this research is to prove whether English songs can increase vocabulary mastery of grade seven students of SMPK GPID Sumbersari. This research was quasi experimental research design. The population of the research was grade seven students of SMPK GPID Sumbersari. This research used purposive sampling technique. This technique gives representative of the population. The sample was VII A as the experimental group and VII B as a control group. In collecting the data, the researcher used pretest and posttest. The result of the data analysis shows that the mean score of experimental group is 60.56 and control group is 64.48. The further result shows that the t-counted (85.33) is higher than the t-table (1.67) with the degree of freedom (df) 50 and 0.05 level of significance. The result of the data shows that the hypothesis accept. In other words, the use of English songs can increase vocabulary mastery of grade seven students of SMPK GPID Sumbersari.
