KEANEKARAGAMAN FITOPLANKTON DI PERAIRAN TELUK PALU SULAWESI TENGAH

ABSTRACT

Research on "Phytoplankton diversity in the waters of Palu Bay, Central Sulawesi" was carried out in October 2021. Activities that occur around the waters of Palu Bay, Central Sulawesi have an impact on environmental factors that affect plankton diversity in the waters of Palu Bay. This study aims to determine the level of phytoplankton diversity in the waters of Palu Bay, Central Sulawesi. The method used in this study is a purposive sampling method with horizontal and vertical sampling techniques. The research area is divided into 4 stations, 1 area behind the Swiss Bell Hotel Palu, station 2 in the area around Palu Grand Mall, station 3 in the Muara Sungai Teluk Palu area, and station 4 in the Fisherman's Village area. The diversity index value (station I) was 2.05 (station II) 2.06 (station III) 2.02 and (station IV) 2.25. Based on the identification results that have been carried out, the phytoplankton diversity index in the waters of Palu Bay is categorized in the moderate level of diversity. Calculation of diversity using the Shannon-Wieners diversity index formula.
