Indonesia is a country that has a very high diversity of plant and animal species, so that Indonesia is
often referred to as one of the centers of megabiodiversity. Indonesia is the second country that has
the most types of butterflies in the world, with more than 2,000 species spread throughout the
archipelago.The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity of butterfly species in the Forest
Park area of Wintu Village, Layana Indah Village, Central Sulawesi Province. This research was
carried out in Wintu Village, Layana Indah Village, Central Sulawesi Province. This research lasted
for 2 (two) months, starting in March 2022 until May 2022. The method used was to collect data on
the type and number of individuals for each type of butterfly, which was carried out using the line
transect method. The data analysis used was the Shannon and Wienner species diversity index.The
results of the study found 43 types of butterflies scattered along the river in the Forest Park, Wintu
Village, Layana Indah Village, Central Sulawesi Province. With a species diversity index (H')
butterflies belong to the high category with a diversity index H' = 3.78.
