Abstract

Mangroves are vegetation found in tropical coastal areas. In general, mangrove vegetation thrives in sloping coastal
areas or near river estuaries and beaches that are protected from waves (Siahainenia et al., 2014). The physical
function of mangrove forests is to keep the coastline stable, protect the coast (abrasion), reduce storms and waves,
catch sediment, while the biological function of mangroves is as a spawning place or residence, protection for shrimp,
crabs, shellfish and other animals.This research was carried out at the 1000 Bintang Beach Tourism site. Masani
Beach, Masani Village, Poso District, Coastal District, Poso Regency. The research was carried out for 2 weeks,
starting from the fourth week in November 2023 to the first week in December 2023. This research was carried out
using a field survey method, data collection on mangrove vegetation was carried out using the line transect method,
by making observations along the lines that had been drawn. previously determined, then record all types of plants
that make up the mangrove vegetation that are found directly and the mangrove vegetation is included in the
observation line. The results of research on the composition of Mangrove Vegetation at Masani Beach, Masani
Village, Poso Pesisir District, contained 8 types of mangroves. These include Avicenia marina, Bruguera sexangula,
Rhizopora apiculata, Rhizopora mucronata, Rhizopora stylosa, Sonneratia alba, Xylocarpus granatum and Ceriops
tagal. Then for the index results of the importance of the species that make up the Masani Coastal mangrove, Masani
Village, Poso Pesisir District. At the growth rate of Sonneratia alba trees it was (85.76%) which was the largest
contributor to INP, then at the sapling growth rate Rhizopora mukronata was (85.40%) which was the largest
contributor to INP and at the growth rate of Rhizopora apiculata seedlings it was (63.60%) %) which is the largest
contributor to INP.
