NINING FARZAH, Stambuk 401 17 006, with the thesis title "The Function of
Government Communication Related to the Covid-19 Vaccine in the Tondo Village"
under the guidance of the main supervisor M. Nur Alamsyah and the assistant
advisor Rusmawaty Bte Rusdin.
This study aims to see how the Tondo sub-district government's communication is
related to the vaccination policy issued by the government. The theory used in this
study is Harold Laswell's theory, namely there are five indicators, namely who, says
what, to whom, through what media, and what effect. This research uses a
descriptive research type and a qualitative research basis. The data used are
primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques with literature studies, field
studies, observations, interviews and documentation. Determination of informants
using a purposive technique, totaling 5 (five) people and selected based on character
and suitability with the required data.
This study concludes that the success of the Tondo sub-district government's
communication regarding the Covid-19 vaccine can be seen from the effect felt by the
community. Measuring the success of communication can be seen from two sides.
First, the Tondo sub-district government was successful because of the increasing
number of people participating in the vaccination program from children, youth,
adults and the elderly. Second, when viewed from a humanitarian perspective, the
government failed. In this case the government failed to make people aware of the
importance of vaccination. The communication made by the government regarding
the covid-19 vaccine failed because there was an element of compulsion from the
community because of the policies implemented by the government. Measuring the
