Abstract

Landfill in Palu city is location in Kawatuna Village, Mantikulore Subdistrict. The overall area of Kawatuna landfill is 20 ha, while the area of land that has been used has only been ± 5 ha. Kawatuna landfill is divided into 3 zones, namely: Zone 1 with an area of 15,502.17 m2 (already full), Zone 2 with an area of 11,689.03 m2 (operating), and Zone 3 with an area of 12,594.56m2. The purpose of this study is todetermine the hydrogeological conditions in residential areas located around Kawatuna landfill and groundwater pollution based on hydrogeological conditions due to seepage of Kawatuna landfill flow.
The methods used in this study are laboratory test methods and shallow groundwater sampling tests. Laboratorium analysis is among them to find out the losion / seepage of water from a soil sample. Shallow groundwater sampling test to determine the physical parameters of: (1) Temperature, (2) Smell, (3) Taste (4) Color (5) pH, (6) Electrical Conductivity (EC) and (7) Total Dissolve Solid (TDS).
Based on the results of hydrogeological conditions in the Kawatuna area, can be seen from the type of rocks, namely sedimentary rocks where there are conglomerates, and sandstone inserts. Permeability value in the Kawatuna landfill area, we can interpret that the permeability is classified as medium permeability where the medium class has intervalsof 10-1-10-3, so that the entry of water into the pores of the soil can take place but not quickly.
