Korelasi Antara Frekuensi Mendengarkan Lagu Bahasa Inggris Dan Penguasaan Kosa Kata Siswa Kelas XI SMA Negeri 6 Sigi

The objective of this research is to find out if there is any correlation between frequency of listening to English songs and vocabulary mastery of the eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 6 Sigi. This research applied a correlational research design. In selecting the sample, the researcher applied a simple random sampling technique. The samples of this research were 90 students. The researcher collected data using interview and tests. The Pearson Product Moment result of both instrument data analysis was 0.011. The Category was neligible. This indicates that there is no correlation between both variables. Several factors identified as the causes of the two variables in this study not being correlated are: first, the content or context of the vocabulary measurement instrument is not relevant to the listening frequency instrument. The second is the low motivation of students to learn English through songs, as only about 29% of students have motivation to learn English through songs. Third, the listener's experience with English and the frequency of listening to English songs. Fourth is the student's preference for time when listening to English songs. And the last factor is the music preference of each student.
