KORELASI ANTARA KOMPREHENSI MEMBACA DAN KEMAMPUAN MENULIS TEKS NARASI SISWA DI KELAS SEBELAS SMA KATOLIK PALU

The objective of the research is to find out the correlation between reading
comprehension and the ability to write a narrative text at the eleventh grade of SMA
Katolik Palu. The research was carried out at SMA Katolik Palu. The subject of the
research was the eleventh grade students of SMA Katolik Palu. The technique used
in taking the sample was systematic random sampling. In collecting the data, the
researcher used a test for both of the variables in this research. After the test of
reading comprehension was given to the sample at the same time the researcher
also gave the test of writing a narrative. In analyzing the data, the scores were
analyzed manually by using Pearson’s Product Moment Analysis and also to make
the result accurate, the research used program of IBM SPSS 19.0 version. Based
on the research findings, the correlation between the reading comprehension and
the ability to write a narrative text was 0.370. While, the value of ???????????????????????? at
significance level of 0.05 and degree of freedom (df)= 28 was 0.361. In other words,
the ???????????????????????????????? was higher than ????????????????????????. It could be concluded that H0 was rejected and
Ha was accepted. It means there is a positive correlation between reading
comprehension and the ability to write a narrative text at the eleventh grade
students of SMA Katolik Palu.
