Negeri 1 Siniu Through Cake Application.
An android app called cake that focuses on learning English. Cake applications can
be used as an alternative way to teach speaking English. There are many advantages
if we use this application because it is completely free. This application can practice
skills in speaking, reading, and even listening. This research aims to find out
whether there is a significant influence between students’ speaking abilities before
and after being taught using the cake application in class IX of SMP Negeri 1Siniu.
This research uses quantitative research. This research design is pre-experimental
with one group pre-test design and post-test design. This research was carried out
in June 2024 at SMP Negeri 1 Siniu. To collect data, the researcher used speaking
monologue to determine students’ speaking abilities. The population is all students
in class IX of SMP Negeri 1 Siniu, and this research uses one class as a research
sample using a sampling size of 25 students. In addition, pre-test, treatment, and
post-test were used to collect data. The data analyzed showed that the average score
of students after being taught using the cake application (77.12) was higher than
before being taught using the cake application (50.08). It can be concluded that
there is an influence between students’ speaking abilities before and after being
taught using the cake application in class IX of SMP Negeri 1 Siniu
