Mengimplementasikan Lagu Bahasa Inggris Untuk Meningkatkan Pelafalan Siswa Kelas VIII Di SMP Negeri 4 Palu

The objective of this research is to find out whether the use of English songs of the eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Palu can improve the students' pronunciation. The researcher applied a quasi-experimental design which involved experimental class and control class. The population of this research was the eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 4 Palu. The researcher selected the sample by using a purposive sampling technique. The sample of this research was the students of eighth-grade VIII A and eighth-grade VIII B (experimental and control). The result of the data analysis showed that there was a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test. The mean score of the experimental class significantly improved from 39.69 to 63.13, while the mean score of the control class from 43.21 to 41.79. The researcher found a significant difference between the results of the experimental class. It was proved by applying the testing hypothesis. The researcher found that the t-counted was higher than the t-table (10.54>1.678). It means that the hypothesis was accepted. In conclusion, the use of media English song can improve the students pronuciation of the eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Palu.
