Menilai Kompleksitas Frasa Nomina Dalam Penulisan Mahasiswa EFL Di Universitas Tadulako

This research aims to figure out the most dominant noun phrase patterns used and what are the difficulties faced by the students when they construct a complex noun phrase. This research utilized descriptive quantitative as the research design. The population of this study is the third semester EFL Students enrolled in Tadulako University majoring in English Education. The data collection methods used on this research were test and questionnaire. The data showed that the most dominant noun phrase utilized by the students to construct their noun phrase is determiner + noun while the least pattern used by the students is premodifier + noun + postmodifier. The results also showed that the difficulties faced by the students comes from their sociocultural factor where their surroundings affect their ability in constructing a complex noun phrase.
