MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN SISWA KELAS DELAPAN SMP NEGERI 1 BALAESANG TANJUNG DALAM MENGGUNAKAN PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE MELALUI MENONTON FILM KARTUN

The objective of this research is to determine whether or not the application of watching cartoon movie can improve the ability of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Balaesang Tanjung in using present continuous tense. This research used pre-experimental research design with ten students as the sample that selected by using purposive sampling technique. The experimental group was given treatment by cartoon movie. The instruments of data collection were tests, they were pre-test and post-test. The result of data analysis showed that there was significant improvement of the students after got the treatment. It can be seen at the mean score of pre-test was 32.88 and the mean score of post-test was 77.69. The t-table for df(9) is 1.833 while the t-counted was 4.27. It means that applying cartoon movie to improve the ability of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Balaesang Tanjung in using present continuous tense is affective.
