The objective of this research is to find out the effectiveness of B/D/A Questioning Charts strategy for improving the students’ reading comprehension of the eighth grade of SMP Negeri 1 Pasangkayu. This research applied quasi experimental research design. In selecting the sample, the researcher employed purposive sampling technique. The research samples were class VIII B as the experimental group and class VIII C as the control group. The treatment was given to the experimental group only, while the control group was taught using conventional method. The data were collected through pretest and posttest. The pretest was used to measure the prior knowledge of the students, while the posttest was used to measure the students improvement in comprehending the reading text after receiving the treatment. By using 0.05 level of significance and 38 degree of freedom (df), the researcher found that the t-counted value of 2.755 was greater than the t-table value of 2.025. It means, the research hypothesis is accepted. In other words, the application of B/D/A Questioning Charts strategy is effective to teaching reading comprehension to the eighth grade of SMP Negeri 1 Pasangkayu.
