Meningkatkan Kosakata Siswa Kelas VIII Melalu Gambar Di MTs Al-Khairaat Towera Parigi Moutong

Abstrak

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan gambar dapat meningkatkan kemampuan kosakata siswa kelas VIII MTS Al-Khairat Towera Parigi Moutong. Rancangan kuasi-eksperimen digunakan dengan dua kelas, VIII E dan VIII C, yang dipilih untuk penelitian ini karena skor kosa kata mereka yang lebih rendah menurut dokumentasi guru. Data dikumpulkan melalui pre-test dan post-test tentang membaca. Para siswa diberikan beberapa tugas yang terdiri dari 10 pilihan ganda dan 15 pertanyaan kata-kata yang cocok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata skor penyimpangan kelompok eksperimen adalah 14,67 dan kelompok kontrol 5,08. Oleh karena itu, nilai t hitung (4,85) lebih tinggi dari nilai t tabel (1,66). Terbukti bahwa hipotesis diterima dimana terdapat perkembangan siswa setelah mendapatkan perlakuan. Artinya penggunaan gambar efektif dalam meningkatkan penguasaan kosa kata siswa.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine whether using pictures can improve vocabulary skills in eighth grade students at MTS Al-Khairat Towera Parigi Moutong. A quasi-experimental design was used with two classes, VIII E and VIII C, celected for the study due to their lower vocabulary scores according to teacher documentation. The data were collected through pre-test and post-test about reading. The students were assigned some tasks consisting of 10 multiple-choices and 15 match words questions. The result of this research show out meanss deviation score of the experimental group was 14.67 and 5.08 for control group. Therefore, the t-counted value (4.85) is higher than the t-table value (1.66). It is proved that the hypothesis is accepted in which there is development of the students after getting the treatment. It means that the use of picture is effective in increasing students’ vocabulary mastery.
