Meningkatkan Kosakata Siswa Melalui Permainan English Spelling Bee Di SMP Negeri 3 Banawa

Rahmalia Putri Aras (A12118017). This Skripsi entitled “Improving Students’ Vocabylary Mastery Through English Spelling Bee Games at SMP Negeri 3 Banawa”. The objective of this research is to investigate of the effectiveness Spelling Bee Games in improving vocabulary of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Banawa. This research applied quasi experimental research design involves two groups, they were experimental and control groups. The sample was selected by purposive sampling; it was 24 students of class VIII A as the experimental class and 22 students of class VIII B as the control class. The data was collected by administering a vocabulary test conducted before and after the treatment. The test included pre-test and post-test, with the mean score of pre-test was 50.83 for experimental class and 39.27 for control class. While on post-test, 73.63 for experimental class and 49.86 for control class. The result of data analysis showed that the result of Sig. (2-tailed) of t-test for equality of means assumed was 0.000 and ? = 0.05. It means that Sig. (2-tailed) < ? = 0.05. So, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Based on the computation, it can be concluded that there was a significant influence of using Spelling Bee Game to improve students’ vocabulary mastery of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Banawa.
