MENYELDIKI MASALAH BERBICARA BAHASA INGGRIS YANG DIHADAPI OLEH SISWA KELAS TUJUH DI SMP NEGERI 13 PALU

The aim of this research is to find out if there are any English speaking problems faced by the seventh grade students at SMPN 13 Palu. This research employed qualitative research. The sample of this research was the students of class VII D consisting of 32 students. The researcher took questionnaire and conducted in - depth interview technique to obtain data. The result of the researcher shows that most of the students experienced problems in pression their opinion through speaking. The students problems are not confident to speak, were not used to talk in class caused by being afraid of making errors, lack of vocabulary, grammar and pronouncation. Based on the statement above, factors cause of the students problem into three general categories, namely; they confused to speak in English, they say lack of vocabulary and they say that English is difficult to say. It can be inferred that speaking skill is still the main problems facing by the students at SMP Negeri 13 Palu.
