The utilization of coconuts in industry is increasing rapidly, but in current conditions,
the number of coconuts is very fast in the processing of coconuts, but there are coconuts that become waste in the form of coconut belts. The purpose of this research
is of course to develop and modify a coconut belt shredder to reprocess coconut belt
waste so that it can be recycled back into useful materials. The possibility of utilizing
coconut belts as a material for making mattresses, carpets, car seat upholstery, carpets and as a substitute for planting media, this tool is designed as small as possible
so that it can be disassembled and reassembled for easy carrying. The main component of this tool is the use of an electric motor / motor as a power source and large
pulleys with diameters, pulleys and also using Van Belts and using alarm shafts, the
construction part uses 4x4 elbow iron (Calestindo Steel) with This research was carried out in the mechanical engineering materials test laboratory from June to December.
The results of the design of making and testing this coconut belt shredder. with the
main material of testing, namely the coconut belt in the counting method by producing chopping into 0.8 kg cocpeat and 0.5 kg cocofiber
