MOTIVASI SISWA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN BERBICARA DI SMA NEGERI 3 PALU

ABSTRACT
PriskilaDwiAnggrainiSukarto, A12118301. Students’ Motivation in Learning
Speaking at SMA Negeri 3 Palu. Skripsi. English Education Study Program,
Language and Art Education Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and
Education, Tadulako University, under the supervisor of Nadrun
andAfrilliaAnggreni.
The objective of this research was to find out the students? motivation in learning
speaking and students? effort in learning speaking. Qualitative descriptive was
used. The subject of this research was 21 students of tenth-grade IPA 8.
Questionnaire and interview were applied to collect the data. The questionnaires
in this research consist of 10 statements. The interview was conducted to get more
information from the students as supporting result of the questionnaire. Based on
the analysis of data, data from questionnaire show the percentage of strongly
agree and agree higher than disagree and strongly disagree. The interview result
also indicates the students have high motivation in learning speaking and the
students show effort in learning speaking. The conclusion can be drawn that the
students have high motivation in learning speaking and the students show some
efforts such as taking English course, practicing speaking at home, and watching
films or video in English.
