Land cover has very important and significant information in making information thematically. which will be used as material for consideration in making a decision on an ongoing basis. Utilization is the process and manufacture of making use of something. Research on the suitability of forest use with land cover types was carried out in the protected forest of West Dolo District for 3 months, from November to January 2022 using the Survey and Overlay method with a point sampling accuracy test sub-district through several data collection methods such as composite images, radiometric correction, image cropping, making land cover maps using unsupervised classification, and analysis of the suitability of the use of protected forests with land cover types according to the utilization criteria in the area. protected forest.The results of the analysis show that land cover in the area that is included in the protected forest area in Dolo Barat District with an area of 8,680 Ha, only about 4,120 km² or 47.47% is still forested, while about 4,560 Ha or 52.53% is no longer forested and for the suitability of the use of protected forest with the type of land cover included in the appropriate use of protected forest is protected forest area as forest and protected forest area as agricultural land and the inappropriate use of forest is shrubs, open land and savanna/grassland with an area of forest use The suitable area is 5,965 Ha and the area of forest utilization that is not suitable is 2,714 Ha.
