Penerapan Lagu Tematik Untuk Mengembangkan Penguasaan Kosakata Bahasa Inggris Siswa Kelas Delapan SMP Negeri 1 Ampibabo

The research aims to find out whether the use of thematic song can develop English vocabulary mastery of grade eight students of Smp Negeri 1 Ampibabo. The researcher applied a quasi-experimental research design. This study consisted of two groups; experimental and control group. The samples of this study is grade eight students of SMP Negeri 1 Ampibabo; VIII B and VIII C with 25 students each group that selected by using cluster random sampling. The data was collected by administering a vocabulary test consisted of a pre-test and post-test that conducted at first and last meeting. The data were processed using the Independent Samples T-test by SPSS 22 version. The findings revealed that students' vocabulary developed after got the treatment. By applying level of significance, the researcher found that the mean score of the experimental group is higher more than the control group (82.80>78.20). In conclusion, the hypothesis was accepted or that using thematic songs as media can develop english vocabulary mastery of grade eight students of SMP Negeri 1 Ampibabo.
