PENERAPAN METODE PEMETAAN PIKIRAN UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN MEMBACA SISWA KELAS VIII MTs NUR LABEAN

The objective of this study was to find out whether implementing the mind mapping method can improve the reading comprehension of grade VIII students at MTs Nur Labean. This study used a quasi-experimental research design. There are two groups, experimental group and control group that was be received pretest and posttest. The population of this study were VIII grade students at MTs Nur Labean. The researcher's sample used purposive sampling technique. Class VIII A with 14 students was the experimental group and class VIII B with 14 students was the control group. The experimental group was given treatment while the control group was not. The test results showed the mean value of the experimental group on the posttest was 78, which was bigger than the mean value of the control group on the posttest of 32. The result also showed that the t-counted 9.85 was higher than the t-table 2.056 and the hypothesis was accepted. It confirms that, the mind mapping method improve the reading comprehension of grade VIII students at MTs Nur Labean.
