The design used in this study was one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this study were students of class XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Menui that consisting of class XI IPA 1 as a replication class 1 with 22 students and class XI IPA 2 as a replication class 2 with 23 students. The effectiveness of the application of the discovery learning model using animation media can be seen from the average N-gain value in the replication classes. For replication class 1, the average N-gain value was 0.75 which was included in the high category. Also, replication class 2 was 0.74 which was included in the high category. The results of data analysis obtained that the average value of student learning outcomes in replication class 1 was 81.48 and replication class 2 was 80.08. These values were greater than the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) determined by the school, which was 69. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the application of the discovery learning model using animation media can improve the learning outcomes of students of class XI IPA on colloidal material at SMA Negeri 1 Menui. This study aimed to describe the improvement of student learning outcomes in colloidal material through the application of the discovery learning model using animation media.
