Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of concentration and frequency of giving cow’s bio-urine on the initial growth of red ginger rhizomes. This research was conducted at the screenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University. The implementation time starts from January 2020 to May 2020. This research was prepared using a two-factor Randomized Block Design. The first factor is the concentration of cow’s bio urine which consists of 5 levels, namely K1 = POC cow’s bio urine 30ml/100 ml water, K2 = POC cow’s bio urine 60ml/100 ml water, K3 = POC cow’s bio urine 90 ml/100 ml water, K4 = POC cow’s bio urine 120 ml/100 ml water, K5 = POC cow’s bio urine 150 ml/100 ml water. The second factor is the frequency of giving cow’s bio-urine, namely F1 = 2 times of giving POC cow’s bio urine, F2 = 4 times of giving POC cow’s bio-urine, and F3 = 6 times of giving POC cow’s bio-urine. Each process repeated 3 times to obtain 120 experimental units. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the concentration of cow’s bio-urine treatment K2 = POC cow’s bio-urine 60 ml/100 ml water, with frequency F1 = 2 times of giving the of POC cow’s bio-urine shows the best effect of other treatments on all observation parameters on red ginger plants.
