Abstract

This research aims to develop practical personal-social guidance to boost students' self-confidence. The researcher employed a quantitative approach with an experimental method and a pre-experimental design known as the one-group pretest-posttest design on the students in class X- AKL at SMK Negeri 2 Palu. Three statistical tests were performed to determine whether or not personal-social counseling at SMK Negeri 2 Palu in the 2023/2024 school year was effective in raising students' levels of self-confidence: a 1) normality test, 2) a homogeneity test, and 3) a paired t-test. The research results show that pupils who receive personal-social counseling report higher levels of self-confidence. It is demonstrated by the paired samples t-test, which reveals a statistically significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results of students' self-confidence before and after receiving personal-social guidance. The average difference between pre-test and post-test scores is 25.1, with pre-test scores averaging 55.5 and post-test scores averaging 80.6. These results demonstrate the practicality of personal-social guidance in boosting students' self-confidence.
