PENGARUH KARAKTERISTIK PEMERINTAH DAERAH TERHADAP PENGENDALIAN KORUPSI DI INDONESIA

This study aims to analyze the influence of regional government characteristics as proxied by regional government
age, regional government status, regional government geographical location and regional government size using
government budget realization data. The sample is 34 provinces, 415 districts and 93 cities in Indonesia with a
total of 542 observations in 2021. The results of this study show that the characteristics of regional governments,
especially the age of regional governments and the geographical location of regional governments, have an
influence on controlling corruption, but the status and size of regional governments do not have influence on
controlling corruption. This research has implications for academics, government practitioners and local
government entities in Indonesia in detecting and taking action to control corruption in an integrated and
simultaneous manner and implementing the results requires cooperation between various parties and a strong
commitment to making the necessary changes. This research can be used to create further research to deepen
understanding of the relationship between local government characteristics and controlling corruption.
