Pengaruh Komposisi Media Tanam Terhadap Pertumbuhan Setek Sirih Merah (Piper Crocatum Ruiz Dan Pav)

This study aims to determine the effect of the composition of the planting media on the growth of red betel cuttings (Piper crocatum Ruiz and Pav). The study was conducted at the screen house on the grounds of the Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University, Palu, Central Sulawesi. Research activities carried out in May to August 2019. The study was arranged using a Randomized Block Design (RCBD) with treatments that were tried were: M0 = Soil (Control), M1 = Soil composition, Rice husk charcoal, Chicken manure (1:1:1), M2 = Soil composition, Rice husk charcoal, Chicken manure (1:1:2), M3 = Soil composition, Rice husk charcoal, Chicken manure (1:2:1), M4 = Soil composition, Rice husk charcoal, Chicken manure (2:1:1) and M5 = Soil composition, Rice husk charcoal, Chicken manure (2:1:2). The treatment was repeated 3 times so that 18 experimental units were obtained. The results showed that there was a composition of the planting medium that was used to increase the growth of red betel cuttings on the observation parameters of shoot length and root length. The treatment composition of the planting media 2: 1: 1 (M4) produce the best growth of red betel cuttings and is different from other media compositions.
