Abstract

The influence of online PhET simulation-assisted direct instruction on student’s conceptual understanding of parabolic motion. Thesis. This study aims to analyze the effect of the online PhET simulation-assisted direct learning model on students' conceptual understanding of the parabolic motion material. This research is a quasi experimental research. The population of this study were all students of class X SMA IT QURROTA A'YUN Sigi totaling 40 students consisting of 20 girls and 20 boys. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling by means of a lottery, where class X MIPA A as the control class consisted of 20 males and class X MIPA B as the experimental class with 20 female students. The instrument used in the form of a concept understanding test in the form of an essay totaling 5 numbers. The research data were processed or analyzed quantitatively using descriptive statistical methods and inferential statistics. The result of understanding the concept obtained shows that the average score of the experimental class is higher than the control class. The hypothesis test used is Mann-Whitney (U-test) with a significance level of = 0.05. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that there is an Effect of Online PhET Simulation Assisted Learning Model on Students' Concept Understanding on Parabolic Motion Material.
