Abstract

Lettuce is a horticultural commodity that has good prospects and commercial value. Lettuce has a function as a body builder, with a lot of nutrients and vitamins and is good for public health, so it is liked by the wider community. However, the level of productivity of lettuce in Indonesia is still low. The low productivity of lettuce can be improved through the application of an appropriate plant cultivation system, including the provision of liquid organic fertilizers in a balanced manner. One of the plants belonging to the Leguminoceae group that has the potential as a liquid organic fertilizer that can trigger plant growth is gamal. This study aims to determine the effect of giving various concentrations of gamal leaf liquid bokashi which have the best effect on the growth and yield of lettuce. This research was conducted from 18 December 2019 to 22 January 2020 at the Green House of the Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University, Palu, Central Sulawesi. This study used a one-factor randomized block design (RAK) method with 6 levels of gamal leaf bokashi concentration treatment, namely G0 = without liquid bokashi, G2 = 120 ml liquid bokashi gamal leaves / L water, G3 = 150 ml liquid bokashi gamal leaves / L of water, G4 = 180 ml of liquid bokashi of gamal leaves / L of water and G5 = 210 ml of liquid bokashi of gamal leaves / L of water. Each treatment was repeated 3 times in order to obtain 15 experimental units. Each treatment consisted of 3 polybags so that in total there were 45 plants. The results showed that the concentration of liquid bokashi gamal leaves 180 ml / 1L water (G3) gave the best effect on growth and yield of lettuce on all observed parameters, namely plant height, number of leaves, root volume, plant fresh weight and plant dry weight.
