PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN EKSTRAK DAUN KELOR(Moringa Oleifera) PADA PENGENCER SUSU KEDELAI TERHADAP KUALITAS SEMEN KAMBING PERANAKAN ETAWA (PE) PADA PENYIMPANAN SUHU 5o C

ABSTRAK
This study aimed to determine the effect of Moringa leaf extract on chicken egg yolk extender on the quality of PE goat semen during storage at 5oC. The semen collection was done using an artificial vagina. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments (P0, P1, P2, and P3) and 5 replications. The parameters measured were motility, viability, and abnormalities of spermatozoa. The results showed that the addition of Moringa leaf extract had a significant effect (P> 0.05) on the percentage of motility in the chicken egg yolk extender. Treatment of P1 provided the highest motility rate for 24-hour storage (64%) compared to P0 (62%); P2 (54%); and P3 (40%). Viability of P1 showed the highest number (89.4%) compared to P0 (86.4%); P2 (87.2%) and P3 (86.8%), whereas for P3 abnormalities showed the highest number for 24 hours (14.2%) compared to P0 (12.4%); P1 (13.8%); and P2 (12.2%). The conclusion of this study was that the administration of Moringa leaf extract was able to maintain the quality of semen on motility during 24-hour storage at 5oC
