ABSTRACT

Background : The incidence of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is still a global problem in Indonesia. One of the causes of this incident is the lack of public knowledge about Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever. The usual way to increase public knowledge about health information is to conduct health education by using media that can attract participants' interest. Research Purposes:The study aims to determine the effect of counseling using flip chart media on the level of knowledge about Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in temporary shelter refugees in Layana indah village in 2019. Methods :Quasi experimental research, one group pre test post test design. Sampling is done by total sampling technique. The number of samples was 56 people according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. The research instrument used was questionnaires and flip charts. The effect of the flip chart media toward the level of knowledge of temporary residential communities in Layana Indah village was analyzed using the dependent T-test. Results :The average value of respondents' knowledge at the time of the pre test was 74.64 and increased to 84.08 at the time of the post test.The results of the standard deviation values are 8,026 far the pre test and 6,908 for the post test. Flip chart media counseling has an influence on the level of public knowledge about Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in temporary residential in Layana Indah Village with a value (p = 0,000). The conclusion : There is an influence of counseling using flip chart media on the level of knowledge about Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in temporary residential refugees in Layana indah village in 2019.
